Is the little Princess safe?

~ Prologue ~

The night of my family’s murder I knew something was wrong. On the way to wake my brother Alexi, I collected our spaniel, Joy and as soon as we got to Alexi’s room, we heard the guards. There was no time to wake the rest of our family so we ran.

We turned the corner, too late, one of the guards stood in our way. He was tall, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to shine in the darkness. In one hand he held a sword, in the other hand he held a strong, canvas sack. I was petrified, especially when I saw he also had two bows and two quivers full of arrows slung over his broad back.

The guard looked directly at me and said, “Come, quickly.” We followed him, he was our last hope.
